MANILA: landslides that hit the southern region of Mindanao has killed at least 25 people and over 100 others are still buried in the rubble, officials said the Philippines.

Government officials Arturo Uy said the landslide hit a small mining town area Pantukanbefore dawn Thursday.

This disaster occurred in a region where flash floods devastating the tropical storm haderupted and killed more than 1.250 people last month.

Army Lt. Col. Camilo Ligayo said about 120 soldiers were heading to the area to help dig the soil to remove the dead and survivors.

Uy said the miners and their families have been warned of high risks.

Some residents in the area were forced to move after a landslide that killed about 20people last April near the landslide which occurred on Thursday.

MANILA: Tanah runtuh yang melanda wilayah selatan Mindanao telah mengorbankan sekurang-kurangnya 25 orang dan lebih 100 yang lain masih tertimbus dalam runtuhan, kata pegawai Filipina.

Pegawai kerajaan Arturo uy berkata kejadian tanah runtuh itu melanda sebuah kawasan perlombongan kecil di bandar Pantukan sebelum subuh, Khamis.

Bencana ini berlaku di sebuah rantau di mana banjir kilat yang dahsyat oleh ribut tropika pernah tercetus dan telah membunuh lebih daripada 1,250 orang pada bulan lalu.

Tentera Darat Lt Kol Camilo Ligayo berkata, kira-kira 120 askar sedang menuju ke kawasan tersebut untuk membantu menggali tanah bagi mengeluarkan mayat dan mangsa yang terselamat.

Uy berkata pelombong dan keluarga mereka telah diberi amaran tentang risiko yang tinggi.

Beberapa penduduk di kawasan tersebut telah dipaksa berpindah selepas tanah runtuh yang membunuh kira-kira 20 orang April lalu berhampiran tanah runtuh yang berlaku, Khamis.
